It's HockeyTime

I love hockey.

Not as much as my Cardinal baseball, but close. I'm not that big of a NHL/Blues fan, but I loooove playing. Kudos to a certain someone for getting me involved in it 5 years ago. No one wanted me on their team at first because I'd never played before. HA! Now I've been on the same team since Day 1, except for a summer session. My team is called Chix with Stix and we are blue and white. My jersey number is 5. Remember why I chose that number? (Hint: Initials are A.P.)

Tonight was the first game of the fall session. I was so pumped. I hadn't seen the girls since about August. This afternoon, after I flew in from spending the weekend in Texas, I stopped at the hockey store to get some new equipment I needed. I got new wheels, new bearings, new elbow pads, and my stick retaped. I've never done this before. Terry used to take care of all this for me and get me a discount from his friend Greg. Well, that's certianly not an option anymore. But the guy at the hockey store was super nice. He even gave me a discount. 15%. Not great, but hey, 15% is 15%.

Our game was at 6pm. My wheels rock! They are smooth and fast. Elbow pads need to get broken in, but otherwise, much better than the old ones. FYI, hockey is not cheap.

***Drumroll, please.***

Yours truly, scored a hat trick this evening. That means I scored 3 goals in one game. AND I had an assist on the 4th goal to win the game. Woo Hoo! I am so ready for next week.
