It's feels soooo good to sleep in my own bed. It feels even better to pull my clean underwear out of a drawer and put my dirty ones in a hamper instead of a plastic bag with some hotel's logo on it. I feel human.
I guess you'd feel more sorry for me if you thought that I was working my butt off, thus the reason for my being gone. But no. I've worked only 4 days this month so far. (didn't I say I'd work more in Novemeber?) Yours truly has been galavanting to Texas the past two weekends. (not only am I missing work, I am postponing dates!) Eeeeekkk!!! Holiday season is upon us, I must snag some cool holiday party invites!!
I went to the Texas Tech/A&M foootball game in Lubbock on the 5th. Spent the weekend with my sisters, cousins, and their kids. Overall, good time. Non revving nightmare, though. Oooh, how I love my travel privileges, but how I hate not knowing if I get on the plane till the last minute!!
This past weekend I went Weatherford/Millsap/Brock to visit a high school coach of mine. She lives on a big ranch in a beautiful home with her husband and two kids. We rode ATV's, I had real homemade food, and it was nice to leave the city for a bit. But there was no internet access. I went a whole 48 hours without interent access!
I spent the last two weekends in a household with multiple children under the age of 4. I will never again take sleeping in for granted. I am not afraid of wiping snot from the nose of a child I did not bear. I ask apologies from all my aunts and uncles who I'm sure I interrogated intensely with questions which really have no purpose. I don't think I've ever been asked so many questions as I was this past weekend. Why, When, Where, How, What??? I guess that's the way kids learn, though. And I also found out I don't have all the answers!! I will also never again wonder why the water won't get hotter in the shower. Something called a scalding protector or something like that.
BTW, baby arrival alert! My friend Lisa had her baby boy, Roman, on Nov 3. My friend Stephanie had her baby boy, Luke, on Nov 6. Woo Hoo!! I am making myself an unofficial "Tia Elisa" since I have no nieces or nephews or my own.
Also, it's Monday! That means another hockey game tonight! I'll let you know the outcome.
I think that's all.
