I'm hitching a ride home for Christmas...literally.

Except it'll be on a plane.

Oh please, oh please, Empty Seat Gods, let me get on that plane!

Argh...I hate non-revving.

I'm trying to figure out how to get to Anson the quickest and cheapest way possible. Here are my options:

a)Fly AA (American Airlines) to DFW (Dallas-Ft. Worth) and then connect on AE (American Eagle) to ABI (Abilene) *my favorite option!

b)Fly SWA(Southwest) to DAL(Dallas Love Field), catch a Super Shuttle to DFW, and then take AE to ABI

c)Fly SWA to DAL and rent a car and then drive to Anson

***all the above dependant on seats being available***

The "C" option, of course, is my least favorite since I HATE driving, and it also poses the question of "Do I make this a one way rental or a roundtrip?". If I leave Sunday, I may have to drive to DAL. But Monday's flights on AA and AE look to be open, but I have have have have have to make it back in time for my hockey game that night.

Argh..and the sucky thing is that I really won't know about the flights until I'm actually AT the airport. So on Thursday imagine me running like a 4 year old who had waaay too much candy between the STL Main Terminal and the East (SWA) Terminal trying to guage which one is going to have room for me. SWA by far would be the easiest to get on, but then I have to mess with the whole Super Shuttle thing. I'm just afraid the AA employees are going to make a sick joke of making me wet my pants while they prolong my agony of whether I'm going to get on their flights. I could buy a ticket like a normal person, but have you seen the price of tickets lately? Besides, I'm poor since I'm training with Jesus the Trainer. Poor, but buff. *grin*

Aside here: We (as in SWA crewmembers) got this cool thing with AA and AE that is called a reciprical jumpseat agreement. It basically means if there is any empty seat on the plane, we can sign up for a pseudo-jumpseat and ride in the cabin...FOR FREE. See why I want to fly on AA so badly? They get me straight to Abilene, since SWA doesn't fly there. Curses!

Why can we (SWA) fly to MAF and CRP, and AMA (Midland-Odessa, Corpus Christi, and Amarillo) and not go to ABI (Abilene)!?!? Argh......

I'm going to bring sweets and other cool stuff to bribe the gate agents and flight attendants. I mean, when other airline people come on my plane and bring me goodies, I hook them UP. Their money is no good on my flight. Want another cocktail? Coming right up. Maybe a pillow and a blanket? Sure, and I'll grab you one that's clean and doesn't have hair and who knows what else on it. Need some water before take off? Here ya go.

And you all think it's so cool to fly for free.......

Interesting post! I for one am flying United and have to stop three times on a 14 hour trip and won't make it to Texas until the 26th and I won't get to come to Anson. Now isn't that a sad story?
