Today is my sister's birthday. She is 23. And she just graduated cum laude from TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY. Woo Hoo, April! This post is in Maroon, in her honor. Also, as much as I want UT to win the Rose Bowl, this pic above is in her honor, too. (Thanks, K!)
What a week! I worked my butt off from Tuesday-Friday. I got to be home every night, but my days were so full. It felt like I had a normal job where I drove to work every day and got to come home every night. Except that driving back and forth to the airport really showed me just how much gas prices have risen. I normally don't drive too much so I usually only fill up the gas tank about twice a month. Not so this week....
I am technically done with work for the month. I'm taking this week off and maybe picking up a 2 or 3 day between Christmas and New Year's. And if I have no plans (aka date!) for NYE, then I'm going to work. Last year, I spent NYE in Chicago...in the cold...all by myself. (Can you hear the miniature violins playing?) *grin* I will be social this year, if it kills me!
I went to a Christmas Party last night. I ate all kinds of horribly-bad-for-you-but-tastes-oh-so-good food. But I learned to play Texas Hold 'Em. It's frickin' addictive! I was up gobs of money, but ended up losing about 20 bucks. I had a great time. I got back home at 4:30 am. We just lost track of time playing cards. So of course I ended up sleeping in 'til about noon today. Then I got my guilty butt up to the gym and punished myself with cardio , cussing myself for eating all that crap. It's a lot easier to tell yourself you'll do extra cardio when you're actually noshing the food than it is to justify it when you are on the elliptical machine watching the "calories burned" display s-l-o-w-l-y burn off the "it now wasn't worth it cheese stick" I ate the night before. Thank goodness I have hockey tomorrow night. That's always good for at least 700 calories.
I'll be in Anson this weekend. I wish we flew straight to Abilene. If anyone is going to be there, call me up. My parents number is in the book. Or just come by the house.
Ya'll have a good week.
Elisa
