Dentist

Britton went to the dentist for the second time in his life.  We went to a different pediatric dentist than before, and I really really really liked Dr. DeVries and the office staff.  Britton was MUCH more at ease, and I don't know if it was because he was older and understood more, or if the previous dentist was a bad as my friends warned me about.  Regardless, we are staying with this dentist and I am so proud of Britton.

He was so good in letting them clean his teeth and sitting still and doing what they asked.  I got to go back with him and Dr. DeVries answered all my questions and was great with Britton.

Britton was a little confused by the mouth vacuum, didn't like the "toothpaste", but loved his inflatable Spiderman and balloon sword. Also, I had been talking to Britton about the visit since he noticed my ancient fillings and asked what they were.  I figured it was a good opportunity to tell him that they were "bugs" because when I was a little girl I didn't want to brush my teeth and see the dentist.  My thinking was that if I told him that, he's be more inclined to sit still and let the dentist do what needed to be done.

So yes, I accomplished that.  But on the downside, Britton has told three complete strangers that "Mami had bugs in her teeth."  And then asks, "Mami!  Open your mouth so they can see the bugs!".

Not exactly what I was going for.  :)

The guy in the jeans and tshirt is the ACTUAL dentist.

And I don't have a pic of him with the sword and spiderman.
