Nursery Tour

I have never posted a final picture of the baby nursery in our house.  It is not quite what I had imagined in my mind, but it does the job.

For the first 3 months of Britton's life, we rarely walked into the room.  We had the glider and changing table in the living room, and Britton slept in our room in a bassinet.  We basically just used it as a supply room.  Looking back, I can't believe we did that. But we were in pure survuval mode and we did what we had to do.

I am not looking forward to moving Britton into a transformed guest room.  I like him confined to the crib and he knows the nursery is "his" room.  But with another baby on the way, my poor boy is getting his cheese moved.  We plan on buying bunk beds for Britton, and when Bishop gets on a consistent sleep schedule, the boys will share a room.

This is the North wall.  It has the changing table, the laundry basket, and the diaper pail.  On the wall, is a decal I found on Etsy.com   I had it framed so we could move it from wall to wall or room to room.  I was leery about buying a changing table, worried it would not get much use.  But we use it several times a day and Britton is almost 2!

This is the South Wall.  Pretty boring.  The window treatments are not what I want, but eventually there will be a window bench and plantation shutters.  In the meantime, I put up darkening panels and hung white sheers over them.  Also, the futon is where Lewis or I sleep when Britton is sick or having trouble sleeping.  We have rarely used it, but it is nice to have in there.

The East Wall.  On the wall is a baby quilt that Lewis' mom made for Britton.  Or I guess I should say she started for Britton, but the back of the quilt has a note that it is for the "children of Lewis and Elisa Brown".  So I guess it's for them to share.  That's all I'll say about that since her other two grandchlldren have a quilt of their own.  Britton's crib is also alongside this wall, with a nightstand as well.

The West Wall.  The armiore is from my mom.  On it is a musical box that was mine from when I was a little girl.  Also a picture frame with a newborn picture of Britton.  A humidfier, a Scentsy jar, and a figurine given to me at a difficult time in my life.  Also, when Britton was born, an ivy plant was given to us in a duck flower pot.  I loved it.  I had to transfer the ivy, but I kept the duck.

The NE corner.  This glider is my favorite thing in the room.  I love it.  It is well made, comfortable, and I just love it.  We got it used and had the cushions recovered.  I have spent many hours rocking and reading to Britton in this chair.

My boy in his closet.  He had just woken up from his nap.

Thank goodness he doesn't know how to climb OUT of his crib.  My little monkey!

He looks so cute after his nap! Why do you have that top button buttoned? He looks like a little cholo, especially since it's a plaid hoodie. LOL

Lewis said the same thing about the shirt when I bought it. ;) The only reason I buttoned the top button was because if I don't, the weight of the hood pulls his shirt up and he looks all disheveled.

Gangster Britton!!!
