Blech....

I'm tired. I don't like being tired. It makes me grouchy.

I got up early this morning to pack for my trip since I didn't do it last night because I had a date. (BTW, date went well. I will most likely see him again.)

Anyways, I packed my bags. I went to the gym. Had a strenuous workout with Jesus the Trainer. He's a great guy. And I'm not just saying that because he is the perfect specimen of a man. He really is pretty cool.

Showered, rushed to the aiport, and got on my COMMUTING flight. I sat next to this guy who was deathly afraid of flying. Too bad it was super windy and we were sitting in the last row. He really didn't help things by continuing to look out the window. I told him that next time he should sit towards the front. Less bumpy up there. And shut the dang window shade!

Got to the FA lounge and proceeded to check in for my trip. A message pops up that says I am not scheduled to work. WHAT!?!?!?

I apparently had put my trip in the giveaway box and forgot about it and SOMEONE PICKED IT UP! So there I was in Chicago all ready to go and there was nothing on my schedule! Thanks to the beautiful new contract our Union got for us, we can now pick up a trip for that day within 2 hours of report time.

So what did I do? I picked up the ONE trip that I could still pick up. It's a hideous trip. I have to overnight in LAS (Las Vegas) on Thursday night. I hate Vegas. I'll be in LAX tonight.

I also have to fly the "C" position. That means I have to check all the emergency equipment and brief the exit row on emergency procedures. People that sit there think they are special or something and refuse to listen. But guess what? When I brief you, you ARE going to listen because lives depend on it! Plus, I'm not getting my butt fined by the FAA for not doing it. That's my main motivation really. I'll have my own door to open in the event of an evacuation. Tough cookies if you don't know how to open the door because you didn't listen.

I also have to serve the middle part of the plane. That means a lot more "back and forth" from the galley. Blech. I hate flying "C". This trip also gets in after midnight on Friday. Double blech. My other trip was in the "A" position. Basically, I'd work up front and have my own galley, and not have to do mundane things like the "C" does. And it got back before 10pm on Friday. Pay was about equal, but I can't believe someone picked it up. Arghhhh.... I'm flying with two new people, too. That should be interesting.

On a brighter note, I am supposed to be getting help on posting pictures to this thing this weekend. So let's keep our fingers crossed.

Okee-dokee. I'm out.
