Be still my heart

I often pray that my sons will be lifelong friends.  That once Lewis and I are gone, they will be have set a foundation to be there for each other.  That they will love each other and be a rock and a soft place for each other.  That they know they are family, they are blood, that they are loved.

It makes my heart smile when I see them together.  I know their brotherly relationship is in its infancy right now.  Sure, Britton can make Bishop laugh, and Bishop can't take his eyes off Britton.  And last night, Britton complained when it was time to put Bishop to bed because he "wanted to play more, Mami!  He not tired!".  The future holds so much for them!

But this morning I got a glimpse into that future that even now, as I type this, makes my eyes tear up and puts a lump in my throat.

Bishop awoke earlier than Britton.  After feeding Bishop his bottle, I brought him to our room and we just snuggled in bed.  Britton came in a few minutes later and joined us.  We were all laying there, both boys all smiles, when Britton grabbed Bishop's hand, and looked at me and said, "I wub him, Mami".

Oh my word.  How my heart jumped up to heaven to thank God for these wonderful precious boys that he gave me.
