5 months

Oh my Bishop.  The world has come alive to you.  You turn and wiggle yourself in any direction possible to see what is going on. This is causing a bit of a problem when you eat.  You get so easily distracted!

And sleeping.  Well, you have your good days and your bad ones.  Mainly good ones, though.  You will sleep through the night (730pm to 7am is my definition) about 1-2 times a week.  When you do wake up at night, it's usually once anywhere from 3-5am.  Things have been much better in the sleeping department now that you like sleeping on your tummy.  I am trying to get rid of that ONE feeding in the middle of the night, and I am slowly decreasing the amount of formula in that late night bottle.  So far, no fuss from you.  You go right back to sleep afterwards.

You are my cuddler.  Your brother was not much of a cuddler.  But you, you like to snuggle and be held.

You are eating many more solids now.  The only thing you haven't gobbled right up is green beans, but you ate them anyway, albeit a little slower.  So far, squash, sweet potatoes, and carrots, have been a bog hit.  Rice cereal was not really your forte, so we have been mixing your meals with oatmeal.  You love it.  But you make SUCH a mess when you eat, that it warrants an extra bath for you!

Your naps are getting more consistent.  I can at least say you have a morning nap starting anywhere from 9-930am, an afternoon nap starting anywhere from `12-1pm, and a quick evening nap starting anywhere from 3:30-4:30 depending on when you woke up previously.  Your awake threshold is about 2 hours.  But being outside prolongs it.  You LOVE being outside.

You are eating about 4-5 bottles a day.  Mainly 6 ounces, but 7 one in a while.

Still in size 3 diapers.  But you are leaking out at night of your Huggies Overnights.  I'm still working on a solution since that could be the trigger waking you up!

You wore shoes for the first time a few days ago.  Little bitty tennis shoes that your brother wore as his first pair as well.  You looked like such a big boy in them!  Lots of cute shoes await you for the cooler weather!

We are working more on your tummy time.  You don't like, it but I am seeing imporvement.  Mama wants her baby to sit on his own!

We moved you out of the infant seat that the beginning of the month.  1) you were getting much too heavy for it and 2) it's expired.  Your daddy does not believe in "expiration" of carseats, but Mami does.  But no harm no foul.  The infant seat has carried 5 babies and there was no cost in moving you to the Blvd.  Your big brother did get a nice new comfy seat, though.  We got him the Britax Fontier 85.  Meemaw and Grammie got Graco Nautilus's for their cars for Britton.  Sorry you are getting hand me downs, son, but they are still in great condition!

Your brother loves making you laugh.  Your eyes never seem to leave him when he's in the room.  I love love love seeing the two of you interact together.  I pray my boys grow up being best friends.

Happy 5 months, Bishop!  Mami loves you so much!
