His and Hers Towels, here we come!

Guess who's getting married?!? Me! Me! Me!

Guess to who?!? Lewis! Lewis! Lewis!

*sigh*

I am so happy. :)

Last week, I came home from work knowing Lewis and I would be going to dinner with some friends. I was told that these friends really wanted to take us out to this really nice place for dinner. These friends are actually like family, so there was nothing strange about it.

When I started getting dressed, I realized I had no clothes. Seriously, my clothes are either airline issued, or it's jeans and t-shirts. Won't someone nominate me for "What Not To Wear"? For some reason, I did find 3 pairs of stockings in my drawer. When they were purchased, I couldn't tell you. However, one was navy, another had a huge run in them, and the last had more holes than a golf course.

So I had to resort to some slacks that make me look "poochy". Lewis wore a suit that made him look so handsome, I almost wanted to hire a bodyguard to keep the groupies away.

Lewis told me the reservation was at 7:30pm, so I was taking my time getting ready. About 6pm, he asks if I can be ready in 30 minutes. WHAT!?!

Apparently we were going to meet our friends at their house and have some drinks before we headed out to dinner.

I did get ready in time, but the little makeup that I know how to apply didn't get put on until I got to the friends house.

I still had no clue as to anything out of the ordinary.

Dinner was at the Amarillo Club, located in downtown Amarillo. It is the tallest building in the city and we were supposed to have a table on the 31st and top floor, overlooking the city. But instead we were seated in the 3oth floor because there was a private party on the top floor. No big deal to me, I had no idea what's going on. As far as I knew, it was just dinner.

We sat and had a drink, talked, drank some more, ate some appetizers, talked, drank some more, ate our entrees (which were very rich and very yummy!), got dessert, talked, and drank some more.

Lewis starts telling a story about when he first moved to Amarillo and his first encounter with the friends we were with. Lewis talked about how he could see this unspoken connection between them even though he didn't know them. And how after he got to know them, how he saw the chemistry between them and how they were a team, and supported and loved each other through good times and bad. He then turned to me and said that he wanted that and he thought we had that and BOOM! He asked if I would marry him!

I don't even think I said yes. I just kissed him and told him I loved him. And my legs were shaking like a newborn fawn and I was smiling bigger than the Joker.

The ring he handed me was beautiful. The stone is sooo brilliant and the setting is classic. I love it and I've looked at it every morning since I got it to make sure this is all real and it's really happening. I have no idea where to begin the planning process. I don't even know where it will be held. I DO know it will NOT be held in Anson or Abilene. We're thinking February or April. He says just as long as it's not during hunting season. ;)

My mom told me that a long time ago, when I was in college, I told her that I would marry Lewis someday. I don't remember saying that, but I can tell you that my heart belongs to him and always will. I am so blessed he chose me to spend the rest of his life with.

I can't wait to marry him.
***I wanted the pictures to show up at the bottom, but I couldn't get it to do it.***

I so agree with Dawn (above :-) because I so miss you but I would never wish for you to return from the bliss that you are in now!!! You deserve this happiness and I hope that all your's and Lewis' dreams come true.

Just remember: If the head count of children you have outnumbers the parents then you in for a heck of ride - so hang on to each other over the bumpy spots!!

Love ya girl!!
