Okay, so I'm out flying. Yeah, I do that once in a while to take a break from my days off. Woe is me. I really should have worked more the last 2 months. But I have so many other things I want to do. And can I help it if my seniority is at the stage where I don't have to work weekends and those greedy, money hungry newbies want to pick up my prime trips during the week? Eh, I'll work more next month. Really, I will. Man, I love this job.
I'm on the East Coast. That's all I'll tell you. And I'll also tell you I am on an AM trip. AM as in morning. AM as in work the first flight out. AM on the EAST coast. AM as in I have to get up at the ungodly hour of 3:30 CDT so I can "lobby" at 4:40.
***Airline Lingo Learning Time***
***Lobby means what time the crew has to be ready to go. Not what time to be down in the lobby, but what time your bags should be on the shuttle and you in your seat ready to head to the airport. Also, if I mention a time, it's always going to be Central time. I live in Central, our schedules are in Central, the Cards play in the NL Central, so I'm all out the Central.***If you know me at all, you know I am NOT a morning person. But once in a while I have to suck it up and work an AM trip because I have something going on that I need to be home for, or I need the overnight, or it pays more, or the FA position is better. And this is one of those weeks. It's just a 2 day, though. E-zee-bree-zee....except for the fact I have to get up so early.
Woohoo!! Cards won! Isn't Albert Pujols the man!!!???!!! He's why I wear #5 on my hockey jersey. Yes, I know he's a baseball player and not a hockey player, but I don't play baseball. I play hockey. So there.
Should I be proud of the fact that I have had maybe an hour of sleep in the last 33 hours? And 30 minutes of that came only because we got into PHL (learn the airport codes, people!) 30 minutes early. What was I doing when I should have been sleeping? Well, now, I can't very well tell you. But it was legal, it was fun, and it was worth losing sleep over. Will I do it again? Probably, but only when I don't have to work the next day.
I'm off to bed. Under that "I'm sure is soooo clean bedspread". Yeah...uh huh....sure....
